Jana Vass (she/her) is a first-generation Australian of Carpathian-Rusyn and Hungarian heritage, living and working on Wurundjeri Country (Melbourne, Victoria).
Since 2017, she has collaborated with various arts organisations such as kwento, the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), Belvoir St Theatre, Flightpath Theatre Company, Kings Cross Theatre (KXT), the Old Fitzroy Theatre, and more, as a Stage Manager and Producer, contributing to the development and delivery of stage and screen projects. She is currently one of the Program Coordinators at Screen Australia, and an external assessor for Regional Arts Australia.
She has built a career focusing on the intersections of creativity, community engagement, and public impact. Passionate about strengthening Australia’s cultural landscape, she is interested in leadership, governance, and policy opportunities that advance equity, sustainability, and innovation across the creative industries. Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
