Jana Vass (she/her) is a first-generation Australian of Carpathian-Rusyn and Hungarian heritage, living and working on Wurundjeri Country (Melbourne, Victoria).
With a background spanning across arts administration, program management, and cultural development, she has built a career surrounding the intersections of creativity, community engagement, and public impact. Since the beginning of her career in 2017, she has collaborated with organisations such as kwento, Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), Kings Cross Theatre (KXT), and Redline Productions, contributing to the development and delivery of theatre, screen, and community-led initiatives.
Jana is currently one of the Programs Coordinator at Screen Australia, and serves as an external assessor for Regional Arts Australia. Her expertise includes strategic program delivery, stakeholder engagement, governance support, assessment processes, and fostering opportunities for artists and creative practitioners.
Passionate about strengthening Australia’s cultural landscape, Jana is interested in leadership, governance, and policy opportunities that advance equity, sustainability, and innovation across the arts and creative industries. She brings a thoughtful, collaborative approach informed by her multicultural background and commitment to inclusive cultural participation.
